April Gardening Tips
-
Put out seedling starts like broccoli, cauliflower, spinach,
lettuce, greens, and some root crops like carrots, turnips, etc.
-
Start seeds indoors for warmer weather plants such as annual and
perennial flowers, tomatoes, basil, summer squashes, peppers, beans.
-
Pull dandelions from your lawn before they go to seed!
-
Clean up winter weeds before they go to seed.
-
Apply lime to your lawn.
-
If you believe in fertilizing your lawn, April is a good time to
do it. Organic plant foods are available as an alternative.
-
It's OK to prune hedges just about anytime.
-
 Cut daffodils and make a bouquet!
