February Gardening Tips
February is the kick-off month for
gardening, with many gardeners visiting the annual Flower and Garden Shows
There is not a whole lot to do, but
your lawn is waking up, winter weeds are popping up everywhere, and the
crocuses, daffodils, and ornamental cherry trees are blooming.
You can plant cold weather crops
outside, from seeds you've started inside. Broccoli, cauliflower, spinach,
beets, carrots, peas, etc.
You can save a lot of money by
starting your vegetables, annuals, and perennials from seed. Get some seed
starter mix, a flat with cell packs, and a light bright place by a window or in
a greenhouse.
