BECOME PRE-QUALIFIED BY A LENDER. It’s a free service! Call your favorite
lender, mortgage broker, or one of the consultants I have listed below, and ask
to be qualified and for a good faith estimate based on probable loan amount.
MAKE A LIST OF CRITERIA FOR YOUR HOME OR CONDOMINIUM. Divide the list into must-

SELECT AN INSPECTOR: The inspector is a critical part of our team. He/she will
inspect the home that you wish to buy. Look in the Yellow Pages under Building
Inspections, or I can call one for you who has a good reputation. Remember that
inspectors (or any other service provider I name) are not part of Windermere,
and as such are independently liable.
CONSULT WITH YOUR TAX ACCOUNTANT: If you have questions as to how your home
purchase will impact your tax return, ask your accountant now.
AUTOBIOGRAPHY. It's not a bad idea to draft a brief history, or
personal note that might list any hobbies, pets, places, and other trivia about
yourself. Anything I can say about you helps make our offer better than the
next agent’s in terms of putting a human face on the buyers. Homeowners are
emotional about selling their beloved homes! I can provide you with some
examples written by other buyers.
TOUR OPEN HOUSES: Optional. Look only in your price range. Save flyers to
discuss later with your agent. Don’t let a seller's agent write up
your offer! You want to buy a
house, not be sold one!
