May is the big month for gardeners! Frost danger is past and you can
plant anything!
Slugs are eating everything you plant - Get them with
the new safer Iron Phosphate slug
baits
made by Worry Free and Sluggo - or use the fun methods of
putting out a saucer of beer, or going out at night with a flashlight and
salting your slugs!
Put up a
bird house!
Control
weeds before they go to seed - get the whole root, or the weed will grow
back.
Make up a
hanging basket.
Remove seed
pods from bloomed out daffodils.
As soon as
crocus and daffodil leaves turn brown, you can either cut them back to
ground level, or if you wait a while longer you can gently give a quick
tug to a few leaves, and they will come right out of the ground.
Tear out some lawn and replace with
Wooly Thyme or Creeping Thyme.
